Suffolk farmhouse

Largescale landscaping project was required at this beautiful restored atypical Suffolk farmhouse near Southwold.

The aim was to create a kitchen garden planting herbs and edible plants as well as creating a meadow with wild flower planting amongst an existing apple orchard. We also raised and re-sculpted the land around a large Copper Beech tree near the house to provide a seating area for al fresco dining. The front of the house was planted with a line of weeping silver pear trees underplanted with Russian sage.

We sourced some beautiful Yorkstone paving and brick paths and steps were built using reclaimed brick.

Hedging was densely planted to create windbreaks and added interest in breaking up vast areas around pond.

Key elements:

- a kitchen garden
- meadow with wild flowers
- entertaining area
- brick paths and steps
- hedging to create windbreaks
